The Held Heart: A Yoga Nidra Practice
A deeply restful practice for the tender hearts, the tired hearts, the depleted hearts, the grieving hearts... a loving practice to hold your heart in space...
Hello lovely one
How are you today?
This is a short and sweet one from me today, and I really do mean it (unlike other times when somehow I end up writing way more than expected).
Last week I shared that, for the next few weeks, I want to give you restorative practices to receive, rather than giving you more to consume. This week I am sharing a brand new Yoga Nidra practice for you to sink into.
Yoga Nidra - if you haven’t journeyed with it before - is a deeply restorative practice that is generally done lying down to provide the body with deep rest. It is also often referred to as Yogic Sleep.
I came to the practice in the depths of my healing journey and I can honestly say it has been a transformative medicine for me over the years.
This particular practice came to me while I was on my own yoga mat, as so often happens when I pause and sink into restoration myself. As I lay down I felt so held by the sensation of my own hands on my heart space and the cradle of the solid ground beneath me and it inspired the piece I have recorded for you today.
